Oyster Roast - RFM Reedville -
Our 20th Annual Oyster Roast takes place on Saturday, November 14th from 2:00 to 5:00 PM on the Museum Grounds. This important fund raiser, which supports the museum’s educational programming, features a menu of oysters – both cooked and raw-on-the-half-shell, along with bean soup, hot dogs, barbeque, clams, chicken wings, cheese, desserts, coffee and soft drinks. Beer and wine will also be available for purchase. There will also be music and dancing.

Only 170 tickets remain for the Oyster Roast, so interested individuals are strongly encouraged to order their tickets now. Advance tickets are $30 per person. Day-of-the-event tickets—if available—are $35 per person. Advance tickets can be purchased at the museum from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm daily. For mail and/or phone orders using a credit card or personal check, please call the RFM at 804.453.6529. If ordering by mail, please enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope.

Ham And Oyster Dinner - Lancaster -
A Ham And Oyster Dinner will be held from 4:30-7:00 PM at Trinity Episcopal Church, 8484 Mary Ball Road in Lancaster. Cost is $15.00 for adults; $5.00 for children. Takeout is available.

The Northern Neck Orchestra - Kilmarnock -
The Northern Neck Orchestra, “From the New World,” 7:30 PM at the Lancaster Middle School Theater, 191 School Street, in Kilmarnock. Cost is $15.00 for adults; $12.00 for students. For tickets, call 436-0927. Tickets also available at the door.

Veterans Day Program - Lancaster - A Veterans Day Program will be held at Holy Tabernacle of God, 2143 Merry Point Road near Lancaster, beginning at 4:30 PM. This event is sponsored by the Derrick B. Spencer Memorial Fund. Soloists, singing groups and praise dance groups. Refreshments will be served afterwards.

Winter Market - Reedville -
A "Winter Market" will be held at Festival Halle in Reedville, 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM. Art, crafts, food, raffles.

Book Signing - Kilmarnock -
A book-signing will be held from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM at Twice Told Tales at 75 South Main Steet in Kilmarnock. "Christmas at Miller & Rhoads: Memoirs of a Snow Queen" (released in Nov 2009) by Donna Deekens, author, and Sandy Jett Hall, illustrator will be present.

Colonial Dames of the XVII Century -
Lettice Lee Chapter of the Colonial Dames of the XVII Century, will meet at 10:30 AM at the Bayne Center at Christ Church. Irvin Owings will speak. Lunch will follow.

Northumberland County Animal Shelter - Northumberland County Animal Shelter will sponsor an inside / outside yard sale from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Northumberland County School Board Building, 2172 Northumberland Highway, Lottsburg. The Yard Sales are also open Tuesday mornings and Friday afternoons.

All proceeds benefit the Northumberland County Animal Shelter, 11703 Northumberland Highway Heathsville. The hours of the shelter are Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Wednesdays from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, or by appointment.
